Tibetan Buddhist mala beads made from rare phoenix eye bodhi seed. Each bead displays the desirable "phoenix eye" pattern. The mala is strung on heavy duty 100lb test cord and finished with a unique antique style cotton tassel. The design concept of this mala was to create a bodhi seed piece that resembles antique bodhi mala beads. Organic cotton was used to recreate the antique stylized tassel and completes this mala's earthy old-world feel, resulting in something wonderfully unique that's bold yet elegantly understated.  Bodhi seed beads are becoming exceptionally rare and expensive since many of the Nepalese bodhi groves have been bought by the Chinese. We were fortunate enough to come across a high quality old stock of bodhi seed malas that were made prior to the Chinese acquisition of the groves. Beads of this caliber, size and quality
