A magnificent brass, copper and silver plate cocktail set made circa 1920 by the renowned American silversmiths Gorham Manufacturing Company as a facsimile of a WWI eighteen pounder artillery shrapnel shell. 

The cartridge case, base section, of the shell contains a set of 4 glasses in a storage rack that lifts out, whilst the projectile front end section is a cocktail shaker.

Being a shrapnel shell, it even has the numbers for the timer engraved in to the nose of the shell. The glasses are replacements for the originals.

Both sections are marked underneath, 'Fac-Simile Eighteen Pounder Shrapnel Shell. Patent Applied for in America and Foreign Countries'.

Dimensions: 56.5cm/22¼ inches (length) x 10 cm/4 inches (max. diameter).
