This new piece of change commemorates the 75th anniversary of the creation of the United Nations which happened after 51 nations, including Canada, signed the charter. It features the UN's signature olive branch wreath in blue and Canada's iconic red maple leaf along with a world map that has more maple leaves within it. The Royal Canadian Mint said that this is a tribute to Canada's commitment to continuing international cooperation through the United Nations.
